Michael Sokoloff, MT-BC, MNA, is a Board Certified Music Therapist with a Masters Degree. Michael has done professional music therapy work for the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (Jewish Home), Victorian Skilled Nursing Facility in San Francisco, and has his own private practice at Music Therapy Pros. Michael plays guitar, piano, saxophone, sings and composes.
Music therapy is an evidence-based treatment that helps with a variety of disorders including cardiac conditions, depression, autism, substance abuse and Alzheimer's disease. Qualified Long-Term Care Services are necessary diagnostic, preventive, therapeutic, curing, treating, mitigating, rehabilitative services, and maintenance and personal care services (defined later) that are:
1. Required by a chronically ill individual, and
2. Provided pursuant to a plan of care prescribed by a licensed health care practitioner
